UGG TASMAN is Australia's own UGG brand, registered, certified and thus protected by the Australian Trademark Office. UGG TASMAN originated in the Australian Tasmanian Islands. The word TASMAN comes from the explorer Abel Tasman, the first person to discover the Tasmanian Islands. Early on, the brand mainly targeted the Australian market, gaining a diverse customer base and an excellent brand image. The brand’s focus is to keep up the tradition of Australian sheepskin shoes while incorporating fashionable elements, upholding Australia’s fine reputation with its comfort and attractive features.

UGG boots first originated in Australia, where people began making boots out of two pieces of sheepskin to keep their feet warm. By the end of the 19th century to early 20th century, at the time of the First World War, UGG boots became widely used in Australia by pilots, then gradually becoming popular among surfers for keeping warm. UGG TASMAN originated in the traditional UGG workshop in Tasmania, and its brand logo consisted of a semi-circular symbol representing the waves of the Tasman Sea, with UGG placed to the right of it to show that the shoes were commonly used to keep the feet of surfers warm as they came back to shore. This also tells of its origins being on the land which the Tasman Sea surrounds. Furthermore, Australian Sheepskin describes the traditional raw material used in manufacturing UGG.

As time went on, UGG sheepskin shoes became Australia’s world renowned specialty. The old workshops in Tasmania underwent several changes, while also gradually transforming into an UGG sheepskin shoe business. In order to expand its business, in 2005 the company’s headquarters moved to Sydney, and relying on the fine reputation of UGG TASMAN in Australia, it began to explore the international market where success came quickly.

With changes in market demand, from 2008 to 2011 the business carried out a series of adjustments and improvements, ultimately forming Winterworth Pty Ltd as the main carrier, and UGG Tasman as the principal brand, with wholesalers and retailers complementing each other, joined by physical stores in forming its business model with additional retail opportunities to share the future. UGG TASMAN has now developed into a colourful fashionable brand with multiple designs. Its boots come in colours ranging from the original natural colour to brown, black, grey, purple and many other colours; styles have evolved from the classic design to long, medium and short designs. TASMAN designs incorporate fashionable elements into the traditional comfort, rustic style, successfully breaking through its original image, creating many fashionable styles, which other Australian UGG brands were seeking to emulate, and ultimately in 2015 to 2016 the Australian UGG industry revolutionized its product concept, and since then Australia's UGG industry has entered into a period of transitioning from being product centric to brand centric. Today UGG TASMAN has become the top brand of UGG in Australia. Its success not only comes from a dedication to product quality, but also from continual improvements, leading the way in changing the whole industry. UGG TASMAN is creating Australia’s own fashion icon.
